Our Weekend Getaway!

For the company party every year, we go to the Bar J Wranglers in Jackson Hole. We usually go up early and spend a couple hours walking around the town square. Old Time Pictures is a tradition and going to the Candy Store is a must!! This year we added the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar to our list of events. I never thought I'd say this but, yes, I was kicked out of the bar! Yep...that's right it only takes one drink for me and I'm a whole new person!!! Okay, you're right...I would NEVER! But I did get kicked out because I didn't have my ID on me. Apparently you can't even get in with out it! Ace wasn't too happy and didn’t believe it accident. We went back. He was satisfied that he had that beer in the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar with his wife, now that she's finally old enough to drink. Anyway, here are a few shots-no pun intended-of our AMAZING game of pool!!

"I never thought I'd be playing pool in a bar with my wife!!"-Ronald

Me n Ron Shootin' some pool!

oops...forgot to get a beer in the pic...RETAKE

The EIGHT pounds of candy we bought at the candy store...on the way home I told Ron we were BOTH going on a diet. I told hime we couldn't eat ANY sugar. He just laughed at me and said OH ReALY? What about all that candy in the back of the car...oh yah, I guess I forgot about all that!

This year instead of fighting traffic all the way home we booked a hotel room and stayed the night. It was so much fun! But kinda really weird! It was nice that we didn't have to worry about anything, no pressure to get anything done or be anywhere. We just relaxed and had a great time. Although I never got used to not having any kids around. Its amazing how much they become apart of you-I still didn't get a full night of sleep. I think I woke up more that night worrying about the kids than I do on a normal night at home! But it was worth it!

You know you've been watching too much TV when...

When you live a good thirty minutes from town you can't excatly just run to Blockbuster and rent a good movie for the night. So we tried out Netflix. We love it-SO WORTH IT!! Well, during the days on USA they have an NCIS 3 show block. I would get Ron hooked on it if popped by the house to grab something while working. Needless to say all our netflicks the last couple months have been NCIS episodes. We usually watch them together after the kids are in bed...but sometimes...okay maybe most the time I end up falling asleep before its over. During the day, of course only when I have nothing better to do, I'll catch up on the episode(s) I've missed. Well, you know you've been watching NCIS too much when you're two year old daughter brings you the cell phone and says...

"Mom, I want to call McGee."
Mom: WHO?
Madilyn: McGee. (pause) on the TV

"Climbing up the Mountainside"

We went camping up to Paul’s Reservoir with the Smith’s. It was a lot of fun. We got Madilyn in the car seat and told her we were going camping. The whole hour and a half it took to get their all she could say was, “I climb mountain!” Every ten seconds! She finally fell asleep...two minutes from the campsite! We got there and it was just the cutest little canyon. The lake was within walking distance and seriously the mountains were up both sides. The first thing Mad wanted to do when she woke up was climb that mountain. Other than the massive swarms of biting flies and unlevel camping ground it was great. It was the only campsite there! The boys and kids went fishing and on a hike. They actually found some bear dung-glad they didn’t go until the second day or I would not have slept a wink that night! Madilyn LOVED her fishing pole! She carried it around for an hour before everyone once ready to go down to the lake! (We won’t tell her that it won’t catch anything because it only half of Dad’s old fly fishing rod!) She had a blast... throwing rocks into the lake too.

I took an AMAZING jell-o salad, well I guess it was more like soup. Everyone loved it. Since there wasn’t a level spot to put anything I just set it on the ground –just for a minute. All of a sudden Madilyn was walking around with one brown shoe and one PINK-toed shoe! She STEPPED in my salad. I couldn’t believe it! I was ticked..but it was pretty funny. The kids had a blast playing in the dirt! I can’t believe how filthy they got! At least we know they had fun!! We figured out the best way to go camping! We went up Thursday and came home Friday. It was so nice leaving on Friday afternoon knowing we didn’t have to be to church the next day!

Here are a few pictures of our great time!

Oh, Did I forgot to mention it rained on us?!?!

Taking the walker was the BEST idea yet!

The three amigos! Mack, Mad, and Trix! (They LOVED saying CHEEEEEEEESE for pictures!)
Our Family-The HUNTING'S!
Brittney, Ron, Madilyn and Landon

The Smith's!-Mack, Pam, Taylor, baby Colt (only 4 weeks old), and Trixie!
Landon-The escapee!
The tent worked great for a play pen, that is until he figured out how to escape!!
Trixie, Mack, and Madilyn eating diner!

She was was covered from head to toe in dirt so we just striped her down for the ride home!!
On the way home we stopped and picked up some huge rocks and dropped them off of this amazing bridge! (Sorry about my recording...I'll do better next time!) Next time I'll have too zoom out after so you get the whole effect of how high this old bridge is!
Passing by the bridge on the way...

Ron getting ready to drop the rock...
And here she goes!!!
Just a quick peek down there! -I am pretty sure those are full grown pine trees at the very bottom!

Independence Day Celebrations!

July started out with a bang! We went and got fireworks from Alpine again this year. It took forever!! We waited for hours in road construction. But it was worth it. The show was spectacular. We had a party the Sunday after the 4th at Grandma Hunting’s in honor of Ronald’s birthday. Madilyn loved it-especially the “Snaps”! She loves getting together and playing with all the cousins; for the most part anyway. They love her so much that they just mall her to death, and sometimes she just needs her space. To deal with it she reacts by hitting and biting. None the less she loved it!
Allison came up for the forth of July. We started out by going to the flag raising cere
mony down at the Mud Lake Fair Grounds where we had a free breakfast. Ron ran through his pivots and we went to Menan’s big fair. Madilyn had fun with all the games and foot races. We ate lunch there then hung out at Grandma Hunting’s until it was time for the parade and then again until the fireworks. I felt bad staying there all day with Allison and Dianna. I think they would have had more fun coming back home and going up to the Hamer celebration. But at least we got to spend time together! Madilyn couldn’t wait for the fireworks to start, then fell asleep before they were over. They weren’t as great this year. We usually sit at Uncle Noel’s and lay right under them. That’s AMAZING! But this year we were late and just watched them on main street.
